Kalaniyot focuses on two self-reinforcing goals:
deepening ties with Israeli researchers and building a stronger campus community.

Call for Applications

Applications for the 2027–28 cycle, for both Postdoctoral Fellows and Sabbatical Scholars, will open in December 2026. Please check back or sign up for our newsletter to be notified when the call reopens.

Deepening Ties with Israeli Researchers

Kalaniyot provides financial support to bring the brightest researchers from Israel to campuses around the world through a multitude of programs, such as

  • Postdoctoral and medical fellowships
  • Sabbatical scholar fellowships
  • Seed grants

These prestigious fellowships can help open closed doors and enrich the campus with the well-known spirit of entrepreneurship and out-of-the-box creativity of Israeli researchers. Seed funding provided by Kalaniyot will also help the visitors maintain connections with the researchers whom they met abroad, helping them build collaborative research programs. These activities will deepen academic ties and showcase the brilliance of the startup nation.

Building a Stronger Campus Community

Normally, universities are hierarchical places where faculty, staff, graduates and undergraduates each have their own social circles. Kalaniyot brings together  students, staff and faculty who take pride in their connections to Israeli academia.

Examples of community programming across Kalaniyot universities includes:

  • Weekly community lunches
  • Faculty mission trips to Israel
  • Seminars from Israeli scholars
